Football Collecting - programmes, cards and more.

About Me

Hello, I'm John, and thank you for finding my website. I hope you will find it of interest, no order is too small, but I thought you may like to know a little more about me and my football interests.

I began collecting programmes and learning about the game, its clubs, and its players when, in 1967, some friends took me to the Goldstone Ground (old home of the Seagulls) and I became a Brighton fan. These days, though somewhat handicapped by Parkinsons, I still manage to watch the Seagulls and edit the Collectors Society magazine.

Football-wise, my other club is Dover Athletic, but I get great pleasure in visiting new grounds at all levels. I have seen a game on 128 grounds in the league and Cups, virtually all with Brighton, plus 2 in SWEDEN and also visited over 80 Non-League Grounds, plus several more with Brighton for friendlies, mainly around Sussex. Many of those visited since 1997 are photographed.

Collecting wise, my Seagulls collection fills most of my space, plus I have allied collections featuring International programmes of players capped, at any level, while on the clubs books, which run alongside Miscellenaeous games at the clubs grounds. Other collections relate to Sussex clubs in the FA Cup proper, also the same for Dover. First and Last in the Football League, Scotland and both sides of the Irish border is another area of interest. And that doesn't include my football cards, in particular some Barratts famous footballers!
